The current Carlisle-Windsor Cricket Club was formed in 1994 after the merger of both the Carlisle and Windsor Cricket Clubs, with a history going back to 1947.
The club has a maximum of five senior teams in the Perth Cricket Association Kookaburra competition ranging from 1st grade to 9th grade. As such, we cater for players of all standards and there is ample opportunity for players to progress to a very high standard of cricket.
Through the help of sponsors and dedicated members around the club over the preceding years, we have been able to merge a number of existing local junior cricket teams into the Carlisle-Windsor Cricket Club.
We are a welcoming club, with players from many backgrounds and nationalities.Families are encouraged to support our teams and to take part in our regular social events
WINDSOR CRICKET CLUB HISTORY
The club was founded in 1973 by a group of friends who drank at the Windsor Hotel. The club enjoyed early success winning a C Grade premiership in its first year and a B grade runner up in its second year.
The club championship and a B grade flag followed in 1975-76 and a further B grade flag in 1977-78 following a year in A grade and a relegation. The club won the A grade premiership in 1978-79, the same year that the second side won its first flag in G grade.
The club fielded three sides over the next five years when its first side was one of the strongest in the competition and appeared in four grand finals. The first team won only one premiership during this period – the 1A in 1983-84 and the 3A premiership was won by the clubs 3rd side the same year.
Following a pre-season trip to Singapore in 1984 the club was reduced to one team playing A grade in the 1984-85 season. Relegation saw the club in 1B for 1985-87 season and 1C for 1987-88.
Promoted to 1B in 1988-89 the club fielded a second side and maintained its positions in 1B & 2B grades.
The clubs first ground was Comer Reserve in Como followed by a long stint at Manning Primary School. then Morris Mundy Reserve before moving to Centenary Park in Wilson in 1991-92
